Welcome to the site,

if you're seeing this you must be one of my very first site viewers! My name is Mack, I'm an artist and musician currently studying Media Arts & Sciences.

I wanted to make an official introductory post to outline the philosophy behind this site, my intentions for it, and clearly define the types of writing that will build the foundation of this platform. Music has always been my passion, it is what I love to talk about the most and there are so many projects that I find worth sharing.

What is 100RUN?

100RUN is an online music publication and brand that I plan to expand with artist collaboration. We focus on editorial deep dives into our favorite songs, albums, and hand curated new music recommendations. In 2026 there are many music publications and blogs that write about various genres and news stories. 100RUN will serve as a public platform for music discussion and appreciation, covering the stories that make our favorite artists who they are, while promoting ethical music consumption in an effort to broaden the viability of art as a career.

Future Plans

I plan to design merchandise (T-shirts, tote bags, custom accessories, etc.) in collaboration with artists to make 100RUN into a collective organization that people can appreciate and feel proud to represent and/or be represented by.

In another effort to tackle the more ugly side of the music industry, I plan to launch the 100RUN label which will be forever independent from the major record labels who currently enforce shady business practices and value growth over art, rather than artist development and artist-centric financial viability.

What isn't 100RUN?

We are not a music review platform. Although we cover new songs and albums, we do not "review" music from a seemingly objective point of view. I do not believe music can be objectively reviewed, as it's effect depends heavily on both the artist and the listener's intentions, taste, and subjective experience. I only intend to write about the music I love and delve into the aspects of it which I find interesting, with a hope that others might find it insightful or enjoyable to read.

How does 100RUN differentiate itself from other music publications?

I've spent a few weeks refining the About section of 100RUN to state my goals with the site. To restate them, this publication strives to platform positive stories behind the art that we love, while pushing for effective change in the way the music industry functions at its core. I will not pretend to have the answer to the most prevalent problems that plague working artists, just that I am committed to shining a light on them and advocating for change.

Thanks for being here and happy reading! Our monthly newsletter with curated new music recommendations and articles will be starting soon, so if you're interested in that please sign up!

Note: We do not ever link to services like Spotify due to these reasons. Most of the music we cover is available on all platforms, yet we strongly urge you to consider alternatives, both for the sake of the artists we cover, and those that we don't.
